When is it time for new boots?

It's normal to hold on to your work boots for as long as possible. As a Journeyman Toolmaker, Chris did the same thing.

After all, they're quite an investment.  But, how do you know when it's time for new boots?

Here's a Quick Checklist:

#1 Wear & Tear

If you notice the protective part of your work boots has started to show through, don't think twice. It's time for a change. Don’t take a chance at foreign materials like metal chips getting in and injuring your foot. Remember this: safety first!

#2 Separation of the seams

If you notice a visible separation in the seams of your boots, it's time to plan for new boots. You can visit our website to check out some new options.

#3 Worn on the outsole of the shoe

Can you see tread on the outsole of your shoe? If not, they are no longer slip-resistant. It’s just like your car tires; they will be more likely to slip in oily conditions, inclement weather or on uneven terrain.

#4 Leakage

Has your waterproofing failed? Are your feet wet every time it rains? If so, it's time to replace them.
