“I think we’re supposed to open a boot store.”
Once I said it out loud, I couldn’t take it back. To which Chris replied, “Well, we may not have much but we’ll be rich in boots and love.” That last part was drawn out a bit as he said it, an ornery grin in tow. Read it real slow and southern like: “…rich in boots and love…” You got it! I had just bore my soul and that’s what my husband had for me.
It wasn’t the first time we had taken a leap of faith and Chris knew my perfectionist, A-type personality was headed straight to a legal pad and to ask him, “to talk.” It was his way of reminding me to keep everything in perspective.
This Thanksgiving, The Boot Life has been open over three years. I keep running out of legal pads for my to-do lists, and Chris still can’t be too serious.
But truly, we are rich in boots and love.
On behalf of TeamBootLife and our family, thank you for living The Boot Life and for letting us be a part of it.
Happy Thanksgiving!
